Editorial Review

You can't mistake the unique design of the Fairmont Acapulco Princess.  Built in the shape of an Aztec pyramid, the hotel's architecture was the brainchild of William Rudolph and Leonides Guadarrama.  The hotel itself is situated right on Revolcadero Beach, nestled amongst 480 acres of gardens and palm trees.  The hotel features 1017 rooms, 5 restaurants, 5 pools (including a saltwater pool), and 11 tennis courts, and championship golf course.  The resort offers easy access to both the international airport and downtown Acapulco.  The Airport is 10 minutes away while a 20-minute ride will get you into the heart downtown Acapulco.  The resort offers a perfect ambience for families and couples who are looking for a relaxing atmosphere.

Most guests are impressed by the open-air lobby of the resort.  It is filled with statues, hieroglyphics, stonework, tile, and water art.  Once inside the rooms, you will find them to be clean and spacious.  However, since the resort was constructed in the 70s, the rooms do appear to be a bit dated.  You can locate standard amenities such as AC, alarm-radio clock, safe, cable television, direct telephone etc.  Fairmont Acapulco Princess guests can enjoy an in-room internet connection.  Wi-Fi Internet connectivity is also available in common areas such as the lobby area.  One tip: avoid using the in room phone to make international calls, as the charges can be quite high.  Instead, you can use a prepaid calling card to make calls from the phones kept in the hallway.

If you love spending time near the beach, then Fairmont Acapulco Princess will not disappoint you.  The resort has a number of cabanas on the shoreline and you can use them free of cost, provided that you order food/drinks (a certain minimum may apply).  You can also take a walk down the shoreline.  The sand has a lot of pebbles, and also tends to heat up, so wearing a pair of shoes might prove to be a good idea.  You can also swim in the water, however be warned that the undertow is very strong.  If you want to try some safe swimming options, then why not try out the five free-form swimming pools located in the premise of Fairmont Acapulco Princess.  Two of the pools have swim-up bars, one saltwater pool, and one 'tropical river' pool with waterfalls and a lagoon.

During your stay at Fairmont Acapulco Princess, you can also try out various water sports such as parasailing, sailing, scuba diving and water skiing.  If you want to keep fit during your stay at the resort, then you can head towards the Willow Stream Fitness Center.  Besides, exercising on the various equipment, you can also try services such as fitness assessments, and lifestyle and weight management consulting.  In addition, you can also enroll for the Pilates, Yoga, Spinning and Tai Chi lessons conducted in the gym.  If you love playing tennis, the resort has eight outdoor and two indoor courts.  Moreover, you can choose from synthetic, hard and clay surfaces.  It also has a 36-hole golf course that is quite popular among the guests.  Visitors also recommend going in for the spa.  Guest state that even if you go in for a pedicure, you can use other facilities such as hot tub, sauna, and steam room free of cost for the rest of the day.

If you happen to be a steak lover, then you should not miss a visit to La Hacienda.  The Beach Restaurant is famous for its salsa and shrimp salad.  If you favor Italian cuisine then you can head towards Veranda restaurant, whereas those who prefer international cuisine can opt for Chula Vista.  As far as drinks are concerned try out the ‘Acapulco Margarita’.

Fairmont Acapulco Princess is a huge resort that offers 1017 rooms and suites, which are housed in three separate towers including Pyramid Tower, the Princesa Tower and the Marquesa Tower.  Moreover, the rooms and suites are classified into Guest Rooms and Suites & Specialty Rooms.  When choosing a room, one should opt for the rooms in the Pyramids towers as they have been recently renovated.

Guests state that before arriving at Fairmont Acapulco Princess you should get a President's Club membership as you receive benefits such as 10% discount on spa, express check-in, free internet access, free local calls, free access to health club etc.
