Barcelo Costa Cancun is located in one of the most convenient spots in Cancun.  You can reach the airport within a matter of twenty minutes, whereas a short 5 minute ride will get you in to the heart of Cancun's nightlife and shopping.  The resort offers a glimpse of the Playa Linda area as well as the Mexican Caribbean beach.

Barcelo Costa Cancun’s resort has a distinct air of Mediterranean architecture.  However, its not a big resort and some may say that the resort gets more visitors than it can handle.  Although there are lots of couples and families with young kids, the main crowd consists of young people. At times, the entire resort tends to get noisy, especially due to the fact that the pool organizes events, games and contests the entire day and the bars offer unlimited liquor.  So, if you are looking for tranquility, then this may not be the place for you. But if a fun-filled vacation is on your agenda ...

All the rooms in Barcelo Costa Cancun are fitted with standard amenities such as coffee maker, air conditioners, and telephones, flat TVs and a cable connection. The rooms are also fitted with an internet connection.

You can consider spending time in the large free-form pool or make yourself comfortable in the large number of loungers that surround the pool.  However, the poolside area isn’t large, hence, you may get cramped together with the many other guests.  The pool staff conducts various games and activities all day long.  Pool volleyball, and water polo are some of the popular activities.

You can also try out non-motorized activities windsurfing, snorkeling, sailing, scuba diving, wave runners, and pedal boats.  An air-conditioned gymnasium, sauna and spa are some of the other options available to you, in case, you want to unwind.  Nightly entertainment is available in the form of theme parties.  If you want some live music, you can head to the lobby bar.

Couples with small infants have the option of the services of a baby sitter or enroll them in the Kid’s Club might prove to be a perfect option.

Traditional Mexican dishes are served at Maria’s gourmet restaurant.  You can also try out the buffet offered at the Albatross Restaurant.  However, there is not much variety in the dishes and you might find the buffet course repetitive in nature.  The Italian restaurant, Il Pescatore Restaurant, also offers some fine cuisine.  While staying at Barcelo Costa Cancun, do not forget to place an order for the ‘Mayan’ or the ‘Spanish’ coffee if only to catch a glimpse of how its prepared.

The resort offers a variety of rooms and suites that are designed to meet your needs.  For instance, if you are a family of four, you can opt for the junior suites that offers a large terrace, hammock and a sofa bed.  However, if you want a terrace that offers the sea view, then you can opt for the Presidential Suite.  Barcelo has a room combination for almost any need.
