Located just 15 minutes from the airport, the Hilton Cancun is part of the Hilton hotel chain.  It is designed with a classic Mayan theme, and is located on the Mayan Archaeological site of "Ruinas del Rey".  Golf fanatics will like the 18 hole golf course that is a part of the facility.

A resort that sits in close proximity to the airport.  A resort that offers good family environment. A resort that is run by one of the premiere names in the hospitality industry.  Well, these are just some of the ways of describing the Hilton Cancun Golf and Spa Resort.

Located just 15 minutes from the Cancun International Airport, the resort exudes traditional Mayan architectural sensibilities.  Most people say they chose the Hilton Cancun as it offers a tranquil environment, and is may be more suitable for families and couples who want to enjoy some peace and quiet.  It is not located in the main hotel zone and is far away from downtown Cancun.  Hence, if you are interested in enjoying the nightlife this resort might not be for you.

Hilton Cancun offers 426 rooms, including suites and villas.  A family of four can fit into the standard guest rooms, however, if you are interested in having a Caribbean facing balcony, then you can opt for the Deluxe guestrooms.  Opting for the Villa Beach Suite will provide you with facilities such as kitchenette, refrigerator, daily continental breakfast and evening hors d' oeuvres and a private palapa with hammocks on the beach

All the rooms and suites feature standard amenities such as coffee maker, AC, alarm clocks fitted with a CD or an MP3 hook up, mini bar, work desk, sleeper sofa in rooms having a king bed etc.  You can also spot a flat screen TV that with cable.  However, if you are interested in receiving channels like HBO, CNN, ESPN etc, then you can order them from the hotel.  In addition, you can also take advantage of the wireless internet access provided in each room, for an extra charge.

Most visitors claim that the beds used in Hilton Cancun are very comfortable.  The rooms have been fitted with the Hilton Serenity Beds, which make use of Suite Dreams mattresses.  The bathrooms are large and spacious, consisting of two sinks, a walk-in shower and a separate bathtub.  Hilton Cancun has also made special arrangements for handicapped guests.  The accessible rooms feature amenities such as curved shower rod, shower for wheelchair, throw blankets, on-demand movies and videogames etc.   If you are traveling with young kids, you can also place a request for cribs, playpen and high chairs.

The gym at Hilton Cancun is one even the most die-hard fitness enthusiast will love it.   It is fitted with equipment such as bikes, treadmills, dumbbells, free weights, elliptical machines and nautilus type machines.  If you equate fitness with walking and jogging, then you can try out the track built on the resort. The spa also offer  massages as well as aromatherapy.  Most visitors recommend trying out the breeze facial and the sport massage offered.  You can also consider spending your time at the seven pools that dot the pool area, including a cascading pool, an infinity pool, two heated whirlpools, or take your young ones to the special kiddie pool.  One can also participate in activities such as the water polo and pool volleyball that are conducted on a regular basis.

Most visitors love walking on the beach in front of the resort.  The hotel is located on one end of the hotel zone and hence the beach does not get too many visitors from other resorts and hotels.  However, many claim that the beach is rocky and hence uncomfortable for walking barefooted.  Similarly, the ocean waters can be rough sometimes.

The resort has recently added a FIFA regulation size soccer field and an 18-hole, par 72 championship golf course.  The golf course allows players to carry out their game in a green environment.  It also allows you to catch a glimpse of wild life creatures such as pelicans, geese, herons, peacocks and crocodiles.

Parents with young children have the option of using the ‘Iguana Club’ that offers a good variety of edutainment activities

Most visitors recommend having a breakfast buffet at ‘Spices Restaurant’.  Try out the Chilaquiles – a Mexican specialty.  Kiosko is the place to head if you want to try out some Italian recipes.  Do try the tuna fish sandwich prepared here.  They also offer American sandwiches, and garden-fresh salads.  Mitachi Seaside Grill offers sushi and other seafood.  The Clam chowder soup offered at this restaurant is quite popular. Head for the Pizza & Pasta Restaurant, if you want the chef to prepare your own personal pasta or pizza.
