Editorial Review

Located just 25 minutes from the airport, The Hyatt Cancun Caribe is part of the Hyatt chain.  It is a small hotel with just 296 rooms. Guests will enjoy over 500 meters of white sand beach, and spectacular views of the Caribbean.

The resort offers easy access to both the Cancun International Airport (25 minutes) and downtown Cancun (15 minutes).  It is a small resort that offers privacy and a warm, family atmosphere.   However, at times you might have to negotiate the noise caused by a club that lies just across the resort.  Many visitors state that at times the music can be so loud that you will be literally jolted from your sleep.

The resort has 296 rooms, and all offer a view of the ocean. Depending upon your need and budget you can choose from any rooms categorized under 9 different labels.  For instance, choosing the Regency Terrace Suite will entitle you to enjoy facilities such as jetted spa tub, personal swimming pool and Separate work area.  On the other hand, Deluxe Beach Front is fitted with amenities such as rain and jet showers, two plush double beds and a private balcony or terrace.

Upon entering your room, you will be able to locate amenities that are expected from resorts such as the Hyatt Cancun Caribe.  Flat screen TVs that display a range of satellite channels, coffee maker, mini bar, phone etc. are common in all the rooms.  If you want to check out your email, you can use the wired internet connection available in all individual rooms and suites.  However, if you want to use a wireless connection, then you have the option of taking your laptop to the public areas, which has Wi-Fi connectivity.

Most visitors state that the housekeeping staff has a habit of placing the plushest of the pillows in the closet. So, do open the closet to look. The beds can be a bit hard, although agreeable.

If you are interested in working out at the gym present in Hyatt Cancun Caribe, then you might be disappointed.  Many visitors find that the gym is quite small.  It also does not have a good collection of equipment.  There are only a couple of treadmills, a few bikes and weights.

The lack of a good gym means that most of the people are hanging around the pool area.  Hyatt Cancun Caribe has three pools that also have swim-up bars.  They also have an infinity pool and a large hot tub.  In addition, you can also take advantage of the two Jacuzzis present near the pool area.  Hyatt Cancun Caribe also organizes non-motorized water sports such as snorkeling, scuba diving etc.

A trip to Cancun remains incomplete without visiting its beaches.  The beach near Hyatt Cancun Caribe has a lot of palapas and chairs, but most of the time the water is very rough and not conducive to swimming.  Visitors also state that the sand does not seem to be natural and is not fine.

The resort offers baby-sitting facilities, though there are no special camps or clubs for kids.

If you crave for the sumptuous recipes of New Orleans, then you should make it a point to visit Blue Bayou and try some Cajun & Creole dishes.  However, if you happen to be a seafood lover, you can opt for La Concha, that also serves pizzas.   Most visitors also recommend trying out the club sandwiches with fries, real guacamole and fresh chips.  You can also try out the drinks offered at Cassis Jazz Bar and Fresco Pool Bar. In fact, Cassis Jazz Bar also screens major sports events.
