The Barceló Maya Beach is part of The Barceló Hotels and Resorts chain.  The resort formally opened in 1999 and is situated 75 km from the Cancun Airport, and 85 km from the city of Cancun. The hotel features over 600 rooms, in five buildings designed to capture the Mayan heritage of the area.  The resort presides over 2 km of white sand, palms, and a natural coal reef.  It is an immense complex, with lush, manicured grounds, and flowering gardens.  Its sister hotel, the Barceló Maya Caribe is right next door, and together the form the Barceló Maya Beach Resort.  The eco theme parks of Xcaret and Xhel-Ha are very close by.

Barceló Maya Beach Resort is located on one of the best beaches on Caribbean-Mexican coast.  Guests here are offered the chance of exploring the lush greenery and vast landscapes of the freshwater lagoons, lakes, and rivers.  You will also find many archeological sites that present the best of the Mayan culture.  Barceló Maya Beach Resort is an all-inclusive resort.  You are sure to enjoy the plethora of activities and amenities offered.  The resort is known to be a haven for people from all walks of life.

Barceló Maya Beach Resort and the Barceló Maya Caribe Resort make up the Barceló Maya Caribe Beach Resort.  The resort has all in all 612 rooms.  Each room of the 591 standard rooms has 2 double beds or 1 king-size bed.  3 Master suites have a Jacuzzi, a king-sized bed and a picturesque view to the sea.  The 18 junior suites have a sofa bed, 2 double beds, independent living area and a picturesque sea view.  Every room is well-equipped with air conditioning, terrace, satellite TV, ceiling fan, telephone, mini-bar, safe and 110 voltage.  For extra security the hotel has installed electronic lock to the doors.

While adults can relax at any of the four beachside swimming pools, the children have a water park to make a splash of their own.  People can also opt to keep their children with the baby-sitting services, who take optimum measures to ensure the kids are safe and secure.  Other than this, guests can also avail of movies on-demand and videos games, for their in-house entertainment purposes.  The resort has two nightclubs that offer nightly entertainment.  Many companies convene their corporate meetings and seminars at the 23,000 sq.ft of conference space in 2 convention facilities, each of which provide state-of-the-art conference and catering facilities.  The convention/conference facilities have a capacity of approximately 50 to 350 people.

Barceló Maya Beach Resort has all the amenities a family requires.  From a children’s  mini-club and park, as well as sport facilities like tennis, gymnastics, volleyball, aerobics, dance classes, mini-golf, soccer, and dance classes.  The older bunch can opt for rifle shooting, soccer, billiards and darts, or water sports like windsurfing, scuba diving, sailing, catamaran, kayaking, water basketball, and aqua-gym.  Barceló Maya Beach Resort is close to a variety of entertainment and leisure activity centers like 18-hole and 9-hole golf courses and a shopping center.

Barceló Maya Beach Resort restaurants have something for everyone’s taste buds.  It has 2 a la carte restaurants and 2 buffet restaurants.  Don Quijote serves Spanish cuisine and El Agave serves Mexican cuisine.  For the connoisseurs of wine and best liquor can get the right ‘spirits’ at any of the 6 bars.  The only drawback that has been brought to light by many fellow guests is that one needs to make reservations at the hotel before hand.  The snack bars serve hot dogs, sandwiches, and hamburgers, etc.  during the day.

Barceló Maya Beach Resort has a variety of options for entertainment and fun.  Guests can also make use of the spectacular swimming pools close to the beach; they can either use it for sun-bathing or merely laying back and basking in the sun, sipping a cool drink.  The resort has the facility of a mini-golf club, which is set in amidst tropical greenery.  You can enjoy a good workout at the gym and thereafter a rejuvenating therapy at the Jacuzzi is sure to ease all your tired muscles.  Sports fanatics have the multi-sport court and the 5 tennis courts at their disposal.  The resort also has many shops that sell, Mexican silvery jewelry, some other shops sell handicrafts and souvenirs belonging particularly to the Mexican Caribbean belt of the nation, you will also find a tobacco cave and a specialist tequila shop.
