The El Dorado Royale is part of the Karisma hotels chain, and was built in 2000.  The resort is located 25 minutes from the Cancun airport, on Punta Brava beach.  This adults only resort features 462 rooms designed in the local Mexican Caribbean architecture, and is situated on 450 acres of lush tropical jungle.  The beach itself has over a mile of white sand for guests to enjoy.

The year 2000 saw the vision of Karisma Hotels and Resorts finally turning into a reality. The construction of El Dorado Royale was finally completed.  The executives of Karisma chain wanted to bring their years of experience in the hospitality industry to the fore and the birth of El Dorado Royale is the manifestation of that desire.  The resort’s management believes in pampering its patrons.  Hence, it offers a complimentary glass of champagne to its patrons on their arrival. So, when you enter El Dorado Royale, expect to say ‘Cheers’. After checking in, the staff will take you on a tour of the resort and showcase the highlights.  But if you are interested in discovering more about the resort and would like to do it at your own pace, then you can request a bicycle and ride around the complex.

The resort offers 605 suites that have been divided into 8 different categories including Jacuzzi Jr. Suite, Ocean View Jacuzzi Jr. Suite, Casita Suite, and Presidential One Bedroom Casita, etc.  If you are staying in any of the suites, you can look forward to experiencing amenities like indoor Jacuzzi, cable TV, terrace with hammock and chairs, coffee maker, mini bar with beer, drinks that are refilled once a day etc.  Regular shopping tours to Cancun and Playa del Carmen are organized and you can bag find good buys as well as local memorabilia.

El Dorado Royale is teeming with various activities and will even beckon the laziest of person to indulge in a few.  If you love to spend time in the water, you can try out the swimming pools.  The resort hosts 11 swimming pools and one can also try out the relaxing natural salt-water pool.  El Dorado Royale has proved to be a haven for water sport enthusiasts.  Many visitors who have visited the resort have stated that they have enjoyed the paddleboats, kayak and snorkeling.  You can also try out deep-sea fishing.

If walking by the beach satisfies your senses, then you can saunter down the mile long Punt Brava Beach.  However, don’t forget to take a pair of wading shoes/water shoes as many tourists have complained that the beach is full of rocks and walking without shoes can prove to be quite a painful experience.

El Dorado Royale features myriad number of restaurants that dish out a variety of cuisine.  For breakfast, you can head to El Cocotal Restaurant that offers a la carte breakfast.  In case you would like some authentic Italian dishes, then you should head for the D’Italia Restaurant that offers a la carte dinner.  Kampai Restaurant should be your next stop if you are interested in trying out Pacific cuisine.  But if your taste buds are yearning for Caribbean cuisine, then you can try out Jo Jo’s Caribbean Seaside Grill.  You can also drop into the La Cabana Pizzaria and Healthy Bar if you want to try something different.

Best Feature: El Dorado Royale is a treat for the eyes.  Besides offering a stunning view of the Mexican Caribbean, you also get a chance to experience nature upfront.  The resort is situated amidst 450 acres of tropical jungle and is surrounded by lush palm trees.  For all the health conscious people, the resort offers anti-stress massage as well as sky massage.  Many visitors have also enjoyed the resort’s reflexology and Shiastu sessions.  Thermal mud massage is something that should not be missed if you want to experience truly relaxing moments.
