Editorial Review
The Paraíso Lindo is Iberostar’s 5-star, all-inclusive luxury resort
located above the dazzling beach of Playa Paraiso. The resort lies
next door to the Paraiso del Mar and is adjacent to Paraiso Maya, both
Iberostar creations.
The Lindo is a luxurious, imaginatively designed, newly built hotel that
cleverly combines structural elegance with the natural beauty of its
surroundings. The buildings are surrounded by lush palm trees and
mangroves and has received the Golden Apple rating from Apple Vacations.
From the magnificent chandeliers to the luxurious oceanfront
Presidential suites, no effort is spared to pamper and delight.
The resort is built in such a way that it comes close to being a perfect
haven for vacationers of all ages. Every room has a terrace or
balcony, mini bar, hairdryer, dish TV, coffee maker, marble bathrooms
and room service. Internet service is available at an extra fee.
The all-inclusive option includes all meals and a wide variety of
entertainment activities, besides a continuous supply of snacks,
alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, both national and imported.
You can dine from the Gourmet restaurant or have your pick from Italian,
Cajun, Oriental or Steak House Fondue.
The first thing that strikes you at the Lindo is the pool. What a
POOL! It is like a long river that winds lazily through the
resort, like the one at the Paraiso del Mar. Separate pool and
wave pool for kids, lots of fun and entertainment, heaps of chairs and
enough smiling service staff around. There are also great
activities throughout the day to keep you busy. Shopping centers
are just a stone’s throw away. At the Lindo, the greens are always
calling out to golf lovers. What’s more, if you’re lucky, you’ll
be around when they hold tournaments and you can watch it for free.
For those who want to tie the knot, the Lindo offers customized packages
that take all the work out of getting married.
One of the best things at the Lindo is that guests can enjoy ‘dining
around’ which means they can drop in at the del Mar and Paraiso Beach
restaurants and bars.
Rooms are spacious with thos closer to the beach being quieter and the
upper floors have great views. It’s a good idea to email the front
desk with your room requirements and dinner reservations a few days
before arriving. That way there will be no unwelcome surprises and
no need to worry about reservations. Even otherwise, making
reservations at the Lindo is fairly easy because each building has its
own concierge. Remember, no reservation may mean no dinner!
The restaurants have a wide variety of cuisine which is also presented
beautifully. From fresh fruit and juices, omelette stations and
deliciously made donuts to salsa, pizzas and regional foods, there is
abundant variety to choose from. The choice is quite varied with
Mexican, Oriental, Cajun and Steak House specialty restaurants, so
there’s no chance you’ll go hungry. However, the menu does get a
little repetitive after a few days.
The Lindo has enough activities to keep you busy throughout the day.
Tennis, aerobics, basketball, volleyball, windsurfing and motor sports.
Golf costs extra. Entertainment programs include games, shows,
performances and competitions. Don’t miss the Star Friends.
As well, there is lots of entertainment activities for children. Daily
excursions are a treat with trips to places like Chichen Itza and Xel-Ha.
The beach at Lindo is another of its star attractions. It is long,
calm and quite simply blissful. Since chairs and palapas are
abundant, there really is no need to rush there in the mornings for a
seat. If you visit with kids, try the pottery on the beach – makes
for wonderful mementos to carry back home. Some areas are rocky
but you’ll get plenty of rock-free areas to play and have fun.
For people who love to shop, there are a number of shops at the hotel.
Besides, the Playa Paraiso Shopping Center is just across the street. If
you want to enjoy a shopping spree in town, just take a taxi, which is
easier than walking up to the highway and taking the collectivo.
Golf lovers, ahoy! Very green, very pretty with great holes. A
day’s golf entitles you to a cart, soft drinks, cold water, snacks and
sandwiches. Early morning and late afternoons are the best time to enjoy
your game unless you like really warm weather. And that’s another
thing – bring lots of sunscreen.
The resort is a great place for honeymooners and families alike.
The Lindo, like its Iberostar sisters next door is a sprawling place.
The sheer size makes it a delight for people who like to explore, walk
and enjoy the freedom of a tropical forest. Children will fall in
love with the little animals that come out every evening. The
pools are simply magnificent though the food can be repetitive after a
while. All in all, a fantastic vacation experience awaits you at
the Lindo.
