Nestled close to the Xcaret theme park, the Occidental Grand Xcaret is amidst a location of historical and ecological significance.  With a sparkling coastline and close proximity to the famous Mayan ruins, the hotel has attracted both beach-lovers and sightseers.  The natural surroundings are a major plus point to the hotel.

The Occidental Grand Xcaret is an all-inclusive resort.  Facilities include gym, steam room and sauna in addition to scooter and car rentals, free parking, and currency exchange.  The resort has a meeting and business center as well as provisions for honeymoon and wedding programs, as well as a spa service that provides relaxing and rejuvenating massages, beauty and spa treatments.  The resort also provides babysitting services and a laundry service which is managed by the hotel staff.

Occidental Grand Xcaret is a huge resort with sprawling grounds to add up to the tropical feel and most vacationers love the ecological richness.  Many love to swim around in the huge pools and laze around at the beach.  The Occidental Grand Xcaret has plenty of activities for adventurous and eco-conscious vacationers.  With the Mayan Ruins and the Xcaret Park ruins close in proximity, guests can explore the remains of a Mayan village or choose to go snorkeling in the underground gardens and ancient caves.  Another aspect to eco-tourism would be watching animals and birds like the jaguars and tropical birds in natural settings.  Staying in a ecologically significant areas has its own share of pros and cons.  For example, some guests seemed irked about the stench of deer pen next to their rooms.
