Editorial Review

The Fiesta Americana Hotel Puerto Vallarta is part of the Fiesta hotel chain.  This beachfront hotel offers guests 291 rooms in a 9 storey, architecturally distinct, building.  Guests will enjoy views of both the ocean and the Sierra Madre mountains.  Both Puerto Vallarta International Airport and downtown PV are just 5 minutes away.  The resort is meant for couples and families.

The entrance lobby's open-air structure and thatched roof lends the entire place a touch of authenticity, and presents a good view of the ocean as well as the resort’s gardens.  Even the guest rooms bear a distinct Mexican stamp.  The resort makes extensive use of marble flooring throughout.  The rooms are clean and spacious and are fitted with standard amenities like air conditioners, cable TV, coffee maker, AM/FM radio, and a safe box.  You can also locate a mini bar in your room, which stocks drinks and juices.  The beds are comfortable, but to some they might appear firmer than their liking.  As far as an internet connection is concerned, Fiesta Americana guests can surf the net from the comforts of their rooms. The resort also provides internet connectivity in public areas such as the lobby.

Fiesta Americana is a beachfront resort and hence most people naturally head towards water.  But the beach in front of Fiesta Americana is small and very rocky.  It may not be suitable for swimming and can't take a walk without wearing a pair of shoes.  But, if you love sunbathing then you can take any of the lounge chair or the palapas that dot the shoreline.  The resort has an outdoor pool that is surrounded by a waterfall and palm trees.  Hence, the whole atmosphere is very relaxing.  Apart from swimming, you can also indulge in activities conducted by the staff.  Some of the pool activities include pool volleyball, water polo and bingo.  But visitors state that the pool water is not too deep and hence it is more geared towards young children than adults.  If you don't like to spend your time in the water, then you can head for the gym.  The gym at Fiesta Americana recently underwent a renovation and hence you can locate some new equipment.  You also have the option of using the tennis courts.  As far as children are concerned, you can either take them to the special kid’s pool or enroll them into the Fiesta’s Kids’ Club.  Guests say that the club does a good job of keeping the kids busy with various activities.

The resort has three restaurants and three bars - La Hacienda, Chulavista, Pergola, the Bikini Bar, Sunset Bar, and Lobby Bar.  Most visitors recommend the seaside restaurant for its homemade tortillas, nachos, tortilla soup and chicken quesadillas.  Visitors also recommend trying out the pina coladas, chicken flautas and margaritas with jimador served at the restaurants located in the resort.

Fiesta Americana has 291 rooms to offer that are classified into categories such as Deluxe King, Governor Suite, Deluxe Double, Fiesta Club Double, Superior King, Junior Suite Double, Presidential Suite, Superior Double and Fiesta Club King.  If you happen to choose the rooms available in the Presidential suite then you can enjoy benefits such as in-suite Jacuzzi and a private terrace with Jacuzzi.  On the other hand, going in for the rooms in the Fiesta Club King gets you such things as daily continental breakfast, cold beverages, afternoon wine and appetizers.  Visitors recommend that you should preferably go in for rooms that face the ocean rather than the town.  Similarly, you should request rooms that are located on the third floor or higher in order to get an unobstructed view.
