Editorial Review

The Presidente InterContinental Puerto Vallarta is located on the south side of Banderas Bay, and offers guests a 360 ft.  stretch of sandy beach set along the backdrop of the Sierra Madre mountains.  The hotel was originally built in 1987, but has had renovations since then.  The hotel is only 10 minutes from downtown PV, and 30 minutes from the international airport.  ‘Privacy’ could well be the middle name of Presidente InterContinental because it is far removed from the main hotel zone of Puerto Vallarta thus shielding the guests from the hustle and bustle of the city.  The resort is great for those who are interested in a place that offers a soulful and a quiet atmosphere.

Presidente InterContinental offers 120 rooms that are grouped into categories such as Guest rooms, Executive Club level and Suites.  Opting for the executive level suites allows one to have a private bathroom as well as special dining areas etc.  All the rooms offer a view of the ocean.

Visitors say that the resort is small and hence offers a great deal of privacy.  It is never too crowded and this allows the staff to give personal attention to all the guests.  The rooms are clean and spacious and uncluttered.  In your room you will find AC, cable/satellite TV, CD player, DVD player etc.  If you would like to catch up with a few blockbusters during your vacation, then you can take advantage of the in-room movie services.  You can also find a work desk, a phone as well as a safe in your room.  Guests can also make use of a coffee maker and a fully stocked minibar.  Recently, Presidente InterContinental underwent a major renovation.  As a part of this renovation, even the beds and furnishings have been replaced with a newer, contemporary variety.  As far as the internet is concerned, Presidente InterContinental offers Wi-Fi connectivity.  But you will need to take your laptop in public areas such as the entrance lobby.  The resort does not provide Internet connection in individual guest rooms.

If you are a beach lover, then you will definitely love the Presidente InterContinental.  Since the resort is located away from the main city, you will rarely find guests from other resorts on the beach, thus maintaining some privacy.  The beach in this part of Puerto Vallarta is clean and not too rough, making it favorable for swimming.  Similarly, you can also relax or take a walk on the fine sand.  Also, becuase of the location, the resort does not have many vendors.  Presidente InterContinental guests can also take a swim in the outdoor pool, though it is a bit small.  At the same time, the pool water remains cool as it is surrounded by the palm trees and the towering resort building.  During your stay at Presidente InterContinental, you can also try out non-motorized water sports such as snorkeling, kayaking etc.  You can also get boogie boards, pool rafts, hobie cats, snorkels, kayaks and life jackets on rent.

The resort gym is another place where you can look forward to spending some time.  It has equipment like treadmilld, a step master, bicycles, universal, bench press and toner etc.  Though the gym is clean, most visitors say that it is small.  The resort also has a special recreation and tennis court.

If you don't have any particular plan in mind, then strolling down the landscaped garden can be a good idea.  The gardens are well manicured and offer a variety of plants, and have koi ponds.

For meals, iff you want to try some Mexican delicacies then you head to Frutas y Flores.  For Italian dishes go to Alfredo Di Roma.  On the other hand, Caña Brava, a poolside restaurant is well known for its chips, salsa and fresh guacamole.  It also has great ‘Sunset drinks’.
