With a breathtaking view of the ocean and stylish deco-style architecture, the Hotel Riu Vallarta is perfect for the wants and needs of everyone.  The resort opened in winter '06 and has a superb location on Flamingo Beach, with world-class recreational facilities and amenities.  Guests can avail of all the amenities at the Hotel Riu Vallarta as well as the other RIU Properties that are situated within the Puerto Vallarta Complex.  Local attractions include Puerto Vallarta, which is about 9 miles away, and golfing at the 18-hole championship golf course Flamingos Golf Club, which is situated not more than a mile from the property.

Hotel Riu Vallarta offers a children's swimming pool, 2 swimming pools with integrated Jacuzzis, a mini-club, a play park, a sauna, a fitness center, and full-service spa that features a range of salon services beauty treatments, and massages.  The resort also offers complete activities program for children and adults, water sports include scuba lessons in the pool, snorkeling windsurfing, and theme shows, concerts, as well as live performances in the evening.

The Pacha nightclub is usually open until dawn, giving revelers the chance to dance through the night.  Other recreational amenities include live entertainment as well as children and adult entertainment programs.  Almost every guest room features telephones, hairdryers, ceiling fans, air conditioning, liquor dispensers, minibars, safes, satellite TVs, and terraces or balconies.  Bear in mind that not all the services are included in the 'all-inclusive' program; guests may have to pay fees for some of the "extra" services provided to them.  Every room also provides a local television, personal safe, direct dial telephone, terrace or balcony, and a bathroom with the necessary hair dryer and other amenities kit.

Hotel Riu Vallarta is built in a U-shape with the rooms on the outside and inside edges.  Junior suites are situated at the end of both edges. Many choose the outside rooms to get a view of the bay and mountains, but it is suggested to request an inside room that overlooks the bay and plaza.  Although the rooms are said to be very spacious, they are smaller in size compared to the average room size, but bright and open.

Hotel Riu Vallarta has 4 specialty restaurants. The "Don Rafael" restaurant has a non-smoking section and terrace.  If you are planning to treat your tastes buds to some Asian food, head to “Nirvana”.  Or else, in your in the mood for a steak while on the beach, you can go to the “Flamingo” which is a grill and steakhouse on the beach.  The resort has 5 bars, including the Astoria lobby bar, the La Plaza bar and the Mezcal bar at the poolside bar.  Guests are entitled to unlimited imported and local beverages 24 hours a day.

Most consider Riu Vallarta a family resort.  Children can have their share of fun at the children's swimming pool, mini-club, or the play park.  While adults can relax and rejuvenate themselves at the fitness center, or have a sauna at the full-service spa.  Riu Vallarta also offers complete activities program for children and adults, complimentary water sports like adults windsurfing, snorkeling and specialized scuba lessons in the pool.  The resort also has theme shows, concerts, and live performances every evening.
