Editorial Review

If there is one line that can sum up Villa Premiere, it has to be ‘ a small resort that offers personalized attention’.  The adults only, 83 suite, Villa Premiere Hotel and Spa was built in 1999.  It holds the claim of being the only Gran Tourismo rated hotel in the downtown area.  The I shaped design of the 7 storey building allows for spectacular views of Banderas Bay.  The hotel is only 10 minutes from the international airport, and within walking distance of downtown. The resort is also famous for its unusual I-shaped architecture. The I- shaped structure means that all the rooms are able to get a good view of the ocean.

As soon as you enter Villa Premiere, you will notice it bears a spa-kind of ambience.  This perhaps reflects the fact that the resort is mostly targeted towards those who are seeking a relaxing atmosphere rather than one offering spring breakers a cheap holiday.  Guests will love the aromatic smells that linger in the rooms and the common areas of Villa Premiere.  The staff makes use of aromatherapy to create soothing environs in the resort.

Since the resort is small, most of the time the check-in process is a breeze.  The rooms are airy, clean and comfortable.  However, before entering, you are required to choose the kind of fragrance you would like to have in your room.  You can have a pick from basil, cinnamon, java citronella, eucalyptus, mint, orange & litcea.  Villa Premiere offers standard amenities such as AC, electronic safety box, flat screen TV, phone, DVD, CD, MP3 player etc.  However, visitors may complain that some of the rooms do not have a refrigerator or a minibar and hence, you cannot store your own food or drinks.  Guests also state that the beds are comfortable and the resort provides a pillow menu, which lists pillows with a varied range of softness.  The resort also provides a complimentary wireless internet connection in each individual guest rooms.  You can also locate an internet café in the resort.

Villa Premiere’s unique location allows you to get a close-up view of the local Mexican lifestyle.  A few steps away from the resort, you can see the community shops, bodegas, small restaurants, coffee shops and bakeries all of which reflect the Mexican culture.  You can also take a short walk to access the Main Pier and Malecon.

Since, Villa Premiere is a beachfront resort, most of you will be tempted to walk down the shoreline or have a swim in the beach water.  However, do not venture near the beach without wearing a pair of beach shoes.  The shoreline is full of pebbles and rocks.  You should preferably wear water shoes while swimming, but the water is clean and safe.  The beach also has a jetty area and if you prefer some solitude you can head down there.

The resort has two pools which are rarely crowded.  Unlike pools at other resorts, the pools of Villa Premiere do not see a barage of activities.  Most people are either enjoying a quiet swim or just occupying one of the many palapas that dot the poolside area.  You can also find two large swinging beds under a canopy near the end of the pool.  The resort does not allow you to reserve any palapa or bed, making it possible for guests to locate at least one empty place.  Visitors also give thumbs up to the soft, spa-inspired music that is played by the poolside.

If you place a premium on your health, then you can attend one of the many complimentary classes organized by the staff.  You can choose from a daily meditation workshop, yoga classes, back massage classes and reflexology classes.  The resort also has a gym wherein you can find latest equipment.  You may also want to try the jan-zu aquatic therapy that is conducted in the main pool, or visit Villa Premiere’s spa that offers services like 4 hands massage, wine therapy, Shiro-dara etc.

If you are yearning for international cuisine, then try the La Ceiba restaurant.  On the other hand, Manglar Restaurant should be visited if you are yearning for Spanish, Italian or French cuisines.  If you want to taste some authentic Mexican cuisine then you should preferably try out the Murales restaurant which serves gourmet Mexican food.  The resort also offers the "Romantic Dinner on the Beach" where they serve only two couples at a time.  Besides some tasty lobster dishes, you also get served by a private butler.

Villa Premiere is a small resort that offers only 83 suites.  However, the small size allows one to have a great deal of privacy, and personalized attention. The suites have been divided in to various categories such as Master Suites, Spa Suite Oceanfront Honeymoon Suite, Deluxe and Premiere.  The Master suites has facilities like a double sink and Jacuzzi in the bathrooms and a Jacuzzi on the terrace.  Spa Suite Oceanfront suites offers a personalized butler service and a 25-minute massage per person.  You will also be provided with a complimentary access to the sauna, steam room, showers and lockers.
